Freedom of Movement

August 22, 2020 - 10:00 am

Rather than introducing a new ‘practice’ to identify with, we present a crash course in movement autonomy. Over two modules (with an hour break in-between) we learn how to explore and expand our movement choices, using a similar learning process that we originally used as babies.

This course was originally developed as a three-day workshop to help people resisting overt physical coercion, like activists preparing to be safely handcuffed and detained. This version of the workshop is broad enough to address repetitive vocational movements or lifestyle patterns, including sedentary habits.

Show up in comfortable clothing, and rediscover the comfortable movement you once knew as a kid, when you were truly ‘your own dog.’ No athletics required or promoted!

Cost is $40, offered on a sliding scale.

Note: This is a four-hour workshop with three breaks totaling one hour. The seminar is presented over Zoom videoconferencing; participants will get the meeting link after RSVPing.

Bookings no longer allowed on this date.
