Margarita Kozhevnikova is a certified Laban/Barteniff Movement Analyst (CLMA) and a professional dance artist. She received Bachelor of Arts in Dance from University of Calgary in 2014 where she also discovered her love for Contact Improvisation (CI).
The self-exploratory nature of CI led her to research and practice psycho-somatically and bio-mechanically sustainable movement. Since then she has traveled in Canada, United States, Germany, Russia, Ukraine and Mongolia studying CI, Axis Syllabus, Authentic Movement, Vipassana and LMA, a method for conceptualizing all varieties of human movement which deepens the understanding of movement’s structural, functional and expressive aspects and their meaning.
Margarita spends her time between Alberta and British Columbia performing on stage, facilitating CI events, and teaching group and one-on-one LMA sessions. In addition, she is training to become a Registered Massage Therapist as a way to refine her “touch for movement re-patterning” skills.
